Soft Smoky Valentine’s Look

Valentine's Day Makeup

I decided to do a bit of a soft purple smoky eyelook for Valentine’s day.  I’ve used mostly high street, more budget friendly options.  I used the Maybelline Instant Pore Eraser primer all over and the Smashbox Photo Finish Lid primer on my eyelids.  I then used the L’Oreal Lumi Magique to colour correct the blueness under my eyes.  For base I used the L’Oreal True Match foundation in Rose Ivory.  I blended it in with the Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge.  I set my face with the Urban Decay De Slick Mattifying powder.

On my eyes I’ve used the cream shadow from the Tarte BeMattenificent palette, all over my lid.  I then defined my crease using the taupe shade, using a fluffy blending brush.  I packed on the Star gazer eyeshadow in Peach Flush on the inner third of my lid and Star Gazer Purple Flush on the outer two thirds.  I blended into my crease again, making sure there were no harsh lines.  I darkened the outer V with the dark plum eyeshadow from the Tarte palette, blending it into my crease.  I create a flick using the Jordana Fabuliner in black, setting it with a black shadow.  I took the purple flush along my lower lash line and then the dark plum shadow lightly over the top.  I took the Jordana 12H Made To Last liner in black, along my lower lash line and my top and bottom water line.  For mascara I used the L’Oreal Mega Volume Collagene 24H in black on my top lashes and the Clinique bottom lash mascara on my lower lashes.  I filled in my eyebrows using the NYX Micro brow pencil in Ash brown.

I contoured below my cheek bones and along my jaw line using the NYC blush in taupe.  For highlight I used the Bourjois Java Rice Powder, I popped this on the tops of my cheeks, nose, top of my lip and the high points of my forehead.  I used the Essence Matt Touch blush in Berry Me Up as my blusher.  For lips I went with Urban Decay lipstick in Rush.  I set my face using the L’Oreal Infallible fixing mist.

That’s the finished look!  If you’d like to see how I created this look you can check out the video below.
